Install MetaMask

MetaMask is a browser extension and mobile app that acts as your Web3 wallet. You need it to connect to the NCRB platform, hold tokens, and sign transactions.

Step 1 — Install the Extension​

  1. Open your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge)
  2. Go to metamask.io and click Download
  3. Click Install MetaMask for [your browser] — this takes you to the official browser extension store
  4. Click Add to [browser] and confirm the installation prompt
  5. Pin the MetaMask extension to your toolbar for easy access

Security: Only ever download MetaMask from metamask.io or the official browser extension store. Never install from a third-party link.

Step 2 — Create a New Wallet​

  1. Click the MetaMask fox icon in your toolbar
  2. Click Create a new wallet
  3. Accept the terms and create a strong password — this protects MetaMask on this device
  4. Click Secure my wallet (recommended)
  5. MetaMask will show you your Secret Recovery Phrase — 12 words in a specific order

Backing up your Secret Recovery Phrase​

Your Secret Recovery Phrase is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access to this device. Anyone who has these 12 words has full access to your funds. Write it down on paper and store it somewhere safe offline. Never share it with anyone.

  1. Write down all 12 words in order on paper
  2. Click Next and confirm the phrase by selecting the words in the correct sequence
  3. Click Done — your wallet is ready

Step 3 — Find Your Wallet Address​

Your wallet address is your on-chain identity on NCRB.

  1. Open MetaMask
  2. Click the account name at the top (e.g. "Account 1")
  3. Your address appears — it starts with 0x and is 42 characters long
  4. Click it to copy it to your clipboard
